Irishstani!

Well after leaving a whole new AIESEC team in place in Ireland I finally managed to get out of the country back home to the UK for a much needed rest on the 8th of July. From there on it was a pleasure to sleep, eat and frantically organise all my travel needs to relocate myself once more, this time to Karachi Pakistan!

Well after leaving London Heathrow on the 28th of July, Hethrow being normal hectic, gloomy airport where you really just want to die! Gulf Air took care of me well with excellent Eastern plane food! I was also lucky enough to sit next to another girl from London who was travelling for the first time to Tanzania we chatted and the 7 1/2 hour jouney seemed much easier! Long haul flight films now are cool, with the camera in the plane to see the view down below was really good.

My connection flight was in Muscat, Oman and just seeing a bit of the city in the air, and the airport and the weather you could tell it was really really nice! Bright hot sunshine and humidity to steam sunglasses immediately out of the plane.

It is said that Pakistani people are extremely hospitable and so I was pleasantly surprised othave that expectation met on the plane when a number of Pakistani people talked to me a lot about what to expect and what I was doing, all with offers of visits or trips!

Karachi arrival was great being met by some great people, Tori, Mustafa, Meeleha and 'SN' (for the AIESEC people can appreciate his name is the smae as saying SN). I was given a great welcome all with obligatory AIESEC banner, traditional necklaces and then driven into town for a much needed coffee, having not slept really at all on the plane!

After havign coffee I went to see Szabist University and the temporary AIESEC office, before we hopefully move into Siemens in a couple of weeks time. It is very peaceful in some places but crazy in others! A lot of Karachi is under development so some places look like a building site haha!

My first day also contained a drive round sight see tour, eating in a very nice Marina Club (Chicken sandwiches and these chicken spices bite things! something beginning with P, and also a Pan (Paa-arn) which is a sweet, but its a vine leaf with wood in it basically interesting but I ate it apparently its good for the digestive system. Also whilst in the car the notorious staring occurs takes a bit of getting used to but I am sure I will be ignorant to it soon enough!

Anyway after all that crashing into bed was bliss (after a lot of other issues with beds, for another time)!

Anyway my first experience is overall very good and is ccompletely different but also completely similar to what you see on images at home!

I am sure there will be many more stories to tell soon!

Dublin Fair City...

So the days are longer now and for some reason the sun has started to shine in the mornings making it easier to get out of bed earlier, generally you can start every day feeling quite good about things... however we are at that time of year when the weather is just absolutley random as! Bright warm sunshine interspersed with rain showers, hail showers and then sun again. Dublin really needs to make up its mind as to what its going to do for the day and stick with it!

However summer in Dublin is a good place to be the city is pretty green with huge parks and stuff... it brings out the best in everyone even the knackers (not sure the politically correct term for them!)

Definitely looking forward to enjoying the remaining time I have in Ireland its set to be a good few months and will definitely have to get out to the west country at least once... its the scenic bit in all the postcards!

A life less confusing...

Well as so many more of my friends have decided to continually log down all of the most interesting and for some more random ongoings in their life... I have decided to once again be a sheep and join them....

Oooh my first posting...
As I come to the end of a chapter in my life where I am left trying to decide what to do with the rest of my god damn time on this endlessly confusing earth and not having a clue what to do next it seems like a good idea to start writing it all down. I hope I will find it all an interesting read in years to come. It also makes a good system for keeping in touch with all the people I have lost contact with or just am too busy to talk so here you go I hope that this will provide an excellent place to find out where I am, where life is taking me and how to get in touch.

To all of you out there I know hello, I hope life is as confusing for you too, and keep in touch!
